I am certain there is a “Ruby” out there waiting for each of us to fulfill God’s plan for us to love one another. Reaching out to someone different than you doesn’t have to feel like an overwhelming commitment. Being a blessing in the life of your Ruby can begin with a smile and the question, “What’s your name?” And let God take it from there.
Finding my Ruby changed my life. I am so grateful that with a bit of a “shove” from Jesus, I listened and followed where He was leading me. By following I discovered gifts I didn’t know I had, or more likely was equipped with on an as-needed basis. Ruby made me a better person.
Your Ruby may be a child who needs help learning to read, an elderly person who could use a little company, a person who looks weary and needs a little rest, or someone who could use a good meal. Your Ruby may be a child in a third world country who needs a sponsor or a woman and child in a shelter who need food and clothing. It may be mom or dad with a critically ill child and not enough time to go grocery shopping or get backpacks together for the siblings. Or it may just be someone who needs to be looked in the eye and given a kind smile …
I am only one. But still I am one.
I cannot do everything,
but still I can do something;
and because I cannot do everything
I will not refuse to do that something
that I can do.
Below are organizations I have vetted and think you might find your Ruby.
